Mohammed Ali Hossain, 59, was sentenced on Monday to 90 years in prison for the continued sexual and physical abuse of his young daughters after being convicted by a jury over the summer on all charges.
A months-long investigation was launched last year by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office and Child Protective Services following tips that Hossain abused his daughters.
That investigation determined that "Hossain had repeatedly sexually abused his oldest daughter over the course of more than six years, as well as physically abused all three of his daughters during the same period."
In June, Hossain was convicted by a Carroll County jury of:
- Continuing course of conduct with a child;
- Two counts of sex abuse of a minor;
- Second-degree rape;
- Third-degree sex offense;
- Three counts of first-degree child abuse.
If he survives his sentence, Hossain was also ordered by a judge to be on probation, and required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
"Nothing can erase the horrendous trauma these girls had to endure for so many years of their childhood," Carrol County State's Attorney Haven Shoemaker stated. "Their innocence was stolen by a person whose job should have been to protect them."
"We hope that the strict sentence imposed by Judge DeLeonardo can provide them with a sense of justice as they move forward."
